Japan Youth

Japan Youth is the spine of Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters. Story, New Stars, and versus all start with this national side. Japanese consoles launched 27 August 2026; worldwide platforms, including Steam, followed on 28 August 2026. Voices are Japanese only.

Scout the rest of the field on the Players Hub, national teams, and club and school teams. Story beats are on the story walkthrough. Grades live on the character tier list and the team tier list.

Midfield

Tsubasa Ozora (captain, MF) is the Drive-family engine and Golden Combo lead. Official copy frames him as a Brazil-seasoned playmaker who came home to lead high-school classmates. Keep the ball at his feet through the middle; parking him on the wing wastes Max Actions.

Taro Misaki is the combo technician and Nankatsu’s high-school captain in the series timeline. Use him as the extra touch before a Drive. Hikaru Matsuyama is the team-first runner who tracks a number 10 or hits an Eagle-style long shot when Tsubasa is marked. Shingo Aoi is newly highlighted versus some earlier game rosters: official text lists him as Principe del Sole and Midfield Dynamo, an Italy-based Japan midfielder who earned his club place through work. Put him in the opposite half-space from Misaki. He is a second-ball thief, not a third Tsubasa.

Attack and gloves

Kojiro Hyuga is Toho’s tiger. Force Tiger and Raiju Super Shots into keeper duels; do not dribble five men. Shun Nitta is Hayabusa pace for Thailand, Indonesia, and any high line Sweden or Germany leave square.

Genzo Wakabayashi is the Super Great Goalkeeper: long-range specialist, German pro, revenge listed against Kluivoort and Levin. Start him against Super Shot sides. Ken Wakashimazu is the Toho alternate for a sweeper-keeper Super Block set. Swap by opponent.

Defense and new names

Jun Misugi is listed as a defender. Official text says he left high school to treat a heart condition and study medicine, then returned. He is a reading center back, not a ram; do not empty his stamina bar early. Hiroshi Jito is Kunimi power on Schneider or Santana. Ryo Ishizaki is the Nankatsu guts fullback: safe outlet, last-ditch block, not an SSS card.

Tomeya Akai is the other newly highlighted Japan piece. Trailers and press put the Akita-linked World Youth defender on the poster. Treat him as confirmed with a physical, duel-heavy kit. Do not invent extra new Japan forwards. Community notes still attach coach Minato Gamo from the manga; trailers showed players, not dugout cards. Leave Gamo as story-staff expectation until a scene prints his name.

How Super Action Soccer uses Japan

Qualifiers against Thailand, China, Saudi Arabia, and Uzbekistan reward Nitta runs and Tsubasa circulation. World Youth nights against Brazil, Germany, Sweden, and Argentina reward Hyuga duels and Wakabayashi’s claim. In Super Action Soccer, Japan’s best pattern is a Tsubasa Super Pass into Misaki, then a wall return for Drive or a delayed Hyuga Max Shot. Wakabayashi’s claim lets you commit numbers forward against Schneider and Santana. Aoi is the replacement if Misaki’s stamina dies in extra time.

New Stars puts a created player on this same Japan path. Local split-screen and online versus use the eleven without the Story camera. School kits on club and school teams are the Nankatsu and Toho photos of these men.

Season Pass DLC adds six characters through August 2027. No Japan DLC names are confirmed. Play Japan as combo soccer: Tsubasa and Misaki create, Hyuga finishes, Wakabayashi steals the Super Shot, Aoi and Akai fill gaps. That is the squad the rest of the national teams table is built to beat.
